WP1: Project management

This cross-cutting work package will ensure smooth and efficient project administration, risk and quality management and will be responsible for monitoring and reporting of the project activities towards the Programme managing authority.

Activity description

A.M.1: Transparent and efficient project administration

The PC  serve as a communication channel for all partners towards the funding provider. His main role in this activity is thee smooth and efficient project administration in accordance with the Partnership agreement and solving potential conflicts.

A.M.2: Coordination, monitoring, evaluation

This activity is cross-sectional running throughout the project. Successful and efficient management procedures secure communication among partners, coordination of project tasks in implementation work packages, project reporting, management of financial issues and solving of potential conflicts.

A.M.3: Risk and quality management

The PC  regularly (on monthly basis) evaluate the project course against the prepared risk management plan. In case any risk occurs, the PC will implement the appropriate risk mitigation/elimination strategy under mutual consent of all partners.

WP2: Sharing and development of best practices, knowledge & expertise

This core WP is composed of three main activities – events for project partners, staff exchanges, and pilot projects - building up logically linked steps towards the overarching goal – to implement mechanisms of collaboration and effectively leverage on existing equipment and expertise of the involved partners and create RI supporting a broad range of entities in the field of bio- and nano-technologies.

Core facilities of all the partners are involved, with majority of activities carried out between VBCF and CEITEC MU and BUT, making complementary pairs or groups synergistically exploiting potential or their matching to move their labs on a higher level through enriching their expertise and portfolio of services to be proactively offered (WP4) to both internal and external users for the benefit of the cross-border region and beyond.

WP3: Stimulating innovation in the region

This work package is focused on external academic workers in the cross-border region. The overall goal of the WP is to stimulate innovation in the cross-border region in the field of bio- and nanotechnology through 2 activities: i) transfer of the joint knowledge and expertise of the project partners to the regional research audience and ii) to provide open access to the services and devices innovated and developed in the implementation WP 1.

To raise the innovation level of the region possibly significantly, particular attention will be paid to the areas of scientific services which suffer in a long-term from lack of experts on the market such as e.g. bioinformatics and bio-imaging, which will result in higher competitiveness of the region in the given field of science. VBCF, CEITEC-MU, CEITEC-BUT, and ICRC will be involved in this WP through jointly implemented activities.

WP4: Communication

The overall aim of this WP is to increase the number of RI users for the economic benefit of the cross-border region. Thus, we need to increase awareness of the RI activities and described potential benefits of their use to attract external users. We will implement a systematic approach composed of several logical steps. To identify external users of both academia and private sector who might benefit from the RI use, we will - in cooperation with the JIC (South-Moravian Innovation Centre), LISA Vienna and their regional partners -compile a segmented database of relevant subjects, i.e. potential external users. Based on the results, we will prepare customised printed promotion materials, accommodate website of the involved core facilities and choose means of most effective communication with respect to the identified target groups(TG). As for the internal communication, we will organise several project meetings whose outputs will be used for communication activities towards external TG.
